It Seems Like Forever...

It sure has been a long, long time since we last checked in!  Life has been crazy, but mostly in a good way. Daisy has been away more than she's been home, touring with Gonzalo, working in Cape May, studying in Europe, etc., making it a little difficult to book any local gigs. But next month, her long awaited new recording, World On Fire, will be released, and she will be touring in the DC/Maryland/PA/NJ areas in support of it! Check the "Calendar" page for info on all of the upcoming shows. It would be great to see some familiar faces out there :)

If you are unable to attend a show, but would still like to support the new release, please consider pledging for a copy of the new CD or one of the other cool rewards that will be offered through Daisy's soon to be launched PledgeMusic campaign. We will send out an email notification once we get that up and running.

In addition to all of that, there is a new Daisy website under construction! Keep an eye out for, coming soon!

Exciting times indeed! Hope to catch up with you in person at one of the shows in April!

Happy Spring!

GBQ West Coast tour!

Daisy hits the West Coast with the amazing

You Can Never Hold Back Spring...

With that wicked winter finally tucked away in the file of bad memories, spring is off to a great start! The Exit 0 International Jazz Festival in Cape May was better than we ever could have imagined! The combination of a stunning location, amazing staff, and perfect weather made the stellar lineup of musicians sound even more magnificent than usual! Words cannot describe what a magical time we had. Thank you to all who contributed to our experience.
The month of June brings more excitement, with a show at the fabulous Le Quecumbar in London, followed by Daisy's official debut at Festival Django Reinhardt in Samois-Sur-Seine, France! Check the calendar page for details. These are both wonderful venues to play, and we'll hope to see lots of familiar faces at the shows and in our travels this summer.
Enjoy the weather, and we'll see you out there!

Another year has come and gone...

Where does the time go????
Happy New Year to all! Hope 2014 is off to a good start for you.
Daisy is gearing up for another busy year full of music and art adventures!
We're making plans for another New England tour, as well as plans to try and get out to places we haven't been before. Maybe we'll see you out there somewhere.
Thanks for your continued interest and support, and best of everything in 2014!

It was the best of times...

2013 is coming to a close, but what a great year!
Daisy's residency at the Strathmore was a wonderful experience that opened doors to many collaborations and friendships she may not have found otherwise. She not only got to play with other excellent musicians, but she also was given the opportunity to exhibit her visual art for the first time at the Strathmore Mansion! Very exciting!
Capping off her time at the Strathmore, at her final Mansion performance, Daisy released her new CD, Déviation! Partially funded by a successful Pledge Music campaign, this recording is a great example of just how much she has grown since she stumbled into this style that has enveloped her.
Another spring tour of New England was a big success and alot of fun. Some familiar, as well as some new venues, we hope to do it again in 2014.
Summer found her in France, where she received a surprise invitation to play on the mainstage at Festival Django Reinhardt, alongside the very first person to ever invite her into a jam, way back in 2010, Raangy Debarre. Awesome!
Autumn arrived and we traveled back to beautiful Whidbey Island, Washington, for Djangofest Northwest, where we hung out with old friends and made new ones too. Always an awe inspiring trip...
We're taking it easy throughout the holiday season, spending as much time as possible with friends and family.

So lately we've found ourselves in New York once a month.

It started in November when we went to Birdland to hang out

with the Schmitts, continued in December

when Daisy and the Infidel Castros were invited to

play at Mark O'Connor's Christmas CD release party in

Greenwich Village, then again in January for Stephane Wrembel's

'Django a Go Go' festival!

Can't wait for the next excuse to get back to the city that never sleeps

(or at least WE never seem to sleep when we're there!)...

Exciting times!

Life has certainly been exciting these last few months!

It began with a trip to France in June for Festival Django Reinhardt,

which included a serendipitous musical meeting with Antoine and Sebastien Boyer.

That led to a return trip and 3 week tour in July and August as a special guest of

Esmerald Jazz!

In September, Daisy and the Boyers headed out to Whidbey Island, Washington,

to perform to a full house as the opening act for

Mark O'Connor's Hot Swing

at Djangofest Northwest!

Last night, it was an impromptu performance at Blues Alley in D.C. as

a guest of Bjorn Thoroddsen and Robin Nolan!

Wonderful surprises at every turn!

Stay tuned for more of

"The Adventures of Daisy Castro"...
